About Sally O'Brien




Sally O'Brien is an Irish Country singer who released several highly successful albums and videos on the Music Box Records label during the 1990s. Most of these have long since been deleted but some have been re-released by various other record companies.

One of Sally's most successful releases was an album of duets with American Country music legend Porter Wagoner. She also released a popular duet album with Irish star Sean Wilson.

Sally has also performed on the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and at the Wembley Country Music Festival, as well as touring extensively throughout the UK and Ireland.

There are many of her recordings on YouTube and these are proving very popular.

After several years away from the music scene Sally has decided to return with the new Sally O'Brien Show.

The annual kids Christmas party in Superstrikes Bowling Alley is on 11th December 2016. In addition to the ten pin bowling there will be games, face painting and arts & crafts. santa is also taking some time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance.

Alley Cats  present  themed arts, crafts and face painting throughout the first week of the Christmas Holidays.

Portrush Cinema Screens "Patch Of Fog"

Plot

Set In Northern Ireland Sandy Duffy (Conleth Hill), is a grumpy author who is content to live on the proceeds of his only novel. He also appears on a  late-night TV arts programme.  He is in a relationship with the host of the show (Lara Pulver) . Duffy is also a compulsive shoplifter and gets caught by a creepy store detective (Stephen Graham) Graham first browbeats and then pals up with the novelist and begins to infiltrate himself into his target’s life. He shows up at his lectures, drags him out to the pub and exhibitions. Duffy goes along with it all but his resentment gradually builds to the point where an explosion is inevitable.
Director Michael Lennox and both writers, John Cairns and Michael McCartney will be at the screening and there will be a question and answer session. This session will  increase people's knowledge of the process of film making and the creative process.

Switching on the Christmas Lights

Christmas Lights Switch On


Coleraine




Coleraine will welcome Santa as the Town's Lights are Switched on on Friday 25th November. The Fun Begins at 6pm in the Diamond with Beatz Entertainment, Portrush Music Society and a local Primary School singing carols. The Good King Wenceslas Parade will accompany Mayor Maura Hickey, Santa and his Clydesdale Horses to switch on the Lights at 7pm. santa will then hand out presents from his Grotto. The Groove Robbers will entertain the crowd and bring the evening to a close.




Portrush


Friday 2nd December sees Santa visit Portrush. Brian Moore will start the evening at 6.30pm  at Station Square. local Primary School Choirs will sing carol;s getting us in the mood for Santa who will arrive with the Mayor to switch on the lights at 7.30pm. santa will again hand out presents to all children who queue to see him.





Portstewart



Portstewart will have Santa visit on Saturday 10th December. Brian Moore is again entertaining and the fun begins at 4pm. Festive characters will be adding to the atmosphere with Santa and Mayor Hickey arriving at 5pm to switch on the lights. Again Santa will be handing out presents.

Award winning Portrush Music Society is delighted to bring Spamalot the Musical to the Riverside Theatre Coleraine.Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention coconuts, killer rabbits and Frenchmen. 

Many of the original characters from the movie are faithfully recreated such as the Knights who say "Ni" while new characters and other Python moments have been added to hilarious effect, including the classic "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".

Aside from Monty Python, Spamalot is a great musical in its own right. With big Broadway numbers and spectacular dance sequences, this musical promises to leave you with a smile on your face. Victoria Lagan Dance and Drama present their annual Christmas showcase.

VLDD are the largest dance studio in the north coast area. VLDD hold Northern Ireland championship titles in both Jazz and Contemporary. This showcase will highlight they dancers in various styles including hip hop, contemporary, jazz, musical theatre and acrobatics. VLDD drama class will be showcase some of the LAMD Acting exam pieces. There will also be special guest singers.

This annual showcase is a chance for all of the VLDD studio performers to showcase their abilities. The evening will be sure to leave you begging for more and excited for the Christmas season.

Spamalot

Brought to the Riverside Theatre by Portrush Music Society. This hit show of the West End and Broadway is not to be missed. Running in the Riverside Theatre from Thursday 1st December 2016 to Saturday 3rd December 2016 nightly at 8pm. The Story 

Spamalot retells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Penned by Monty Python's Eric Idle and lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail. 

It features not so brave Knights, Cows, Killer Rabbits and French People.

This is a must for all Python fans and a show not to be missed by the rest of the populace.

Blood Brothers

The play "Blood Brothers" is coming to the Town Hall Portrush on 11th and 12th November 2016.


Synopsis

Blood Brothers is the story of the Johnstone twins, Mickey and Eddie, who were  separated at birth and who reunite and become friends in their childhood, not knowing that they are related.

Mrs. Johnstone discovers she is pregnant with twins and tells Mrs. Lyons (her employer) about her fears that she will not be able to support both children. Mrs. Lyons is a wealthy and deceitful woman who cannot have children of her own. She convinces Mrs. Johnstone to give her one of the twins  (Eddie) and  promises that she will raise him in the lap of luxury.  Mrs. Lyons then fires the mother in hopes of making Eddie all her own,  however she is unable to separate herself and Eddie from the Johnstone family, which leads both families to a tragic end.

Blood Brothers  is  full of raw emotion and deception. This moving production  is bound to leave you thinking.
